Panorama just had an interesting feature on the Stockwell police murder of an innocent Brazilian citizen. I found this episode interesting for one of the interviews they ran with police officials – one guy sat and repeatedly tried to claim that there is no “shoot to kill” policy because they only “shoot to incapacitate” by shooting people in the head.
Ok. So, you might not kill someone by shooting them in the head, but you’ve got to figure that the odds are good that they’re never going to be quite the same afterwards and that they’re more than likely very dead in the process. But no, that’s not a shoot to kill policy because that’s not very politically correct with your average British television viewer, so they can’t have a police spokesperson stand up and claim that on TV.
I also found it interesting that in Israel, the police have to know that there is a suicide bomber (by seeing their weapon) rather than just having a cup-of-tea senior police officer think that it might be a good idea to pop off a few rounds in someone’s head over breakfast. Good to know I live in a country where even the Israeli policy wasn’t good enough.
Jon.
“… where even the Israeli policy wasn’t good enough.”
Quite. Let’s face it, the Israelis *know* how to Do Good Security more than anyone. And they don’t fsck around with the old ‘Security Theatre’ thing either…
If I lived in London (which I never have, and hopefully never will), I would be deeply disturbed that sections of the Metropolitan Police Service would conspire to murder, and then murder an innocent member of the public. This is a possible, even likely scenario:
Plan A was shoot a Muslim on the Tube thus to regain the initiative, because after the hoax attacks on 21 July 2005, London’s Finest were starting to look like the Keystone Kops. Also, put the fear of God (Allah) into would-be bombers. Then frame the victim to make out he was a home-grown Muslim terrorist. Even if his family says he was an accountant and his hobby was Morris dancing, claim he had been radicalized. This would have gone like clockwork if the racially insensitive plods hadn’t shot a Brazilian Catholic, off the RADAR because he was in UK technically illegally. Talk about tits up.
Switch to Plan B. Unfortunate accident but he brought it on himself by suspicious behaviour. Pull in favours from media whores (“One down, three to go”), plant fake eye-witnesses (members of surveillance team) and wipe surveillance camera tapes. One genuine witness claimed hit squad were using a language other than English. Hebrew; Israeli trainers doing a hands on demonstration? Now that really would put the cat among the pigeons. Ian Blair presumably told the murder squad head, “You have my totally deniable blessing, but my hands must be clean.”
ITN expose Plan B as a total tissue of lies so switch to least attractive alternative short of admitting conspiracy to murder.
Namely Plan C. Honest but understandable mistake resulting from police being under extreme pressure. Impede CPS investigation. Delay investigation as long as possible. Face it, prosecution under the Health and Safety Act. Makes you want to throw up and look into a change of nationality.
Crown Prosecution Service are almost certainly right when they say there is insufficient evidence to prosecute. Because police will perjure themselves rather than give evidence against each other. And there’s the possibility that the plods with do a limited “down tools” if prosecutions are brought.
So that’s the type of country you live in fellow Brits. Authority can do what it likes and you can’t do a thing. They own the mainstream media and they own you too. You simply haven’t woken up to it yet. And in the final analysis, what are you going to do about it? Start a revolution? But you can do emigrate, and emigration of Caucasian Brits is really getting into top gear. The risk takers leave; the risk adverse remain. And the risk adverse, being in denial are the least critical of authority.
So there we all are; public opinion manipulation by mainstream media. Media whores and useful idiots: The perfect marriage.
